CHLOE SS 2013 COLLECTION

This season, Clare Waight Keller’s collection takes its cues from Gaby aghion, the house’s founder, “I don’t explain anything, I have lived… I lived the life I wanted.”

The three-piece suit is updated and given the ‘pull-on and go’ treatment. Sharp, angular v-necks on both the jackets and waistcoats are either balanced out by rounded pants in raw silk, or matched with sharp-creased pants and asymmetric front fastenings in cady and natural tussah silk, whilst elongated jackets are layered over tone-on-tone waistcoats.

Bermudas and oversized t-shirts in silk jaCquard are adorned with oversized hibiscus flowers bringing an element of laid-back attitude. The knitwear is characterized by touches of iridescent lurex and curved sleeves, giving it a modern feel.

Rounded and soft volumes are played out in transparent organza silks with circular cut borders and curved sleeves, silk tailored into fluid pants of appliqué flowers. Flirty sun-pleated dresses in organza and tulle are diaphanous yet structural. Lengths are either cropped, midi or maxi making for easy and effortless layering.

Nuances of white, deep navy blue, brightened by luminous touches of powder pink and sunflower ochre run through this collection.

The relaxed tux takes on a new shape in the form of a fluid pant and shirt adorned with flash arrows that are also playfully featured on a tank as mock braces.

This season, Chloé presents bags with perfect curves, feminine and sophisticated, that come in sumptuous leathers and patchworks of exotic skins.

The new Amelia shoulder bag evokes the art-déco movement with jewel-like ornaments. Resin spheres and interlocking elements that recall retro- cigarette lighters, contrast against soft nappa leathers, ostrich leg exotics and graphic stripes.

Thin strapped leather sandals and heels in metallic silvers, golds and bronzes, embrace a futuristic spirit with graphic white-edged soles and thick wooden heels.
