CITY MEETS COASTAL IN VICTORIA

Victoria Beckham collection goes back to a softer line and feeling of movement for Spring/Summer 2014 while also still featuring some of the key structured silhouettes Victoria has developed over the past four seasons.

Moving away from conversational prints – the focus has been on creating new surface texture, particularly in the chequered and prism prints and jacquards which embody the play on scale, construction and visual intensity used on a variety of fabric bases.

This kaleidoscope inspiration is carried through in the use of colour that this season ranges from subtle pastels through to more intense hues featured on a variety of new and innovative fabrics.

While the line has previously concentrated on technical finishes and advancements here it has been brought back to the use of pure silks that embody this new feeling of movement while structure is brought in through techniques such as laser cut bonding and fabric paneling.

Design details in drop waists, multiple pleats, trompe l’oeil and volume – all these give the dimension and character that the line is now known for.

‘The Victoria girl this season is bi-coastal and the influences of both London and LA life played a huge part in the development and character of the collection for me. Each piece has a strong personality and I truly believe that modern day dressing can be fun and easy with a sense of humour’
