Facing the European crisis which has undoubtedly left its mark on the trade, Macef Autumn edition presented fresh ideas and innovative creations as for home decor, gifts, tableware and kitcheware, and Bijoux, ensuring a comrehensive overview on the : “world of home”
Macef 93rd edition played an important market place for meeting and holding discussions with national and international buyers. It welcomed 81,000 trade visitors of which about 10,000 are foreign buyers from 110 countries and proved to be an indispensable point of reference for the sector, although the number of presences was 3% less compared to September 2011 event.
The countries with the highest growth rate include Russia, China +51%, +Japan +33% and Brazil +16% while a slowdown was recorded by European countries.
“In a period of difficult market for everyone, Macef wanted to concentrate its attention on listening and studying the changing needs of consumers.” said Marco Serioli, Exhibition Division Director at Fiera Milano.
The house by Macef is both inside and outside. In the Autumn event a major role is played by the garden and the outdoor living where furniture, fancy goods, accessories and equipments for terraces, balconies, gardens and public spaces were at their best.
One of the highlights of the Autumn edition was the Opera d’arti: an area for networking and an exchange platform for art and design culture which plays the role of an alternative to specialised Art Exhibition. The section was enriched by the presence of the artists Andrea Salvadori and Giovanni De Francesco. The coming Macef edition will be held in January, from 24 to 27 January 2013. www.macef.it
BIJOUX
Jewels and costume jewels make an important component of Macef that is BIJOUX.
The layout is characterized by macro-subdivision into collezioni area, devoted to the presentation of this season’s novelties and lines, and the cash&carry area where it is possible, for the operators at the fairground, to buy directly with immediate delivery, on minimum order.
The designer club was as usual the area where creativity is sovereign and young Italian and international designers find the perfect showcase for their creations. Particularly attentive to the refinement of materials, style innovations, and manufacture, to small and big revolutions of the actual production models, about forty creative artists displays truly unique bijoux and jewels.
The award ceremony of the traditional event “the best of bijoux” awarded four winners in different categories, judged by a jury made up of communication operators, commercial operators and fashion designers. The next BIJOUX will be held in January, from 24 to 27 January 2013.
