This elegant Château dating from the 19th Century is located 15 minutes from Geneva and its international airport, between Lake Geneva and the Jura Mountains, close to the Divonnes-les-Bains Casino, the Golf Course and the Health and Beauty Centre. The castle was first built as a fortified house at the beginning of the 11th century by the first known dynasties. During the Bernese occupation, in the fifteenth century, it was burned and dismantled. A century passed before it was properly restored under Louis XV. In 1793, the castle was declared a “public property” and the field was fragmented. Later, in the second half of the nineteenth century, a policy of work was put in place.
The expansion was entrusted to a renowned Parisian architect, Walter Destailleur. At Divonne, he was able to highlight the symmetry of the facades and to give to the entire building the balance of a provincial manor whose mansard roof was covered with slate. Its light shade softens the austerity of the pediments which surmount the main entrances. The moldings of white stones that surround each floor stress a horizontal dominance that the wings, slightly recessed, do not interrupt.
After the Second World War, Marcel Anthonioz, Deputy Mayor of Divonne, turn it into a hotel. After his death, the town gave it to the group “Grandes Etapes Françaises” who made of it the famous reference it is today.

Without ever losing its southern origins, its Chef Eric Manent, gives pride to the good local products, highlighted in turn according to the season. On the menu among others: Langoustine raviolis with mushrooms and seafood jus, wild sea bass cooked in the skin with sautéed artichokes and herb vinaigrette, piece of veal sautéed with aubergine caviar and shavings of ham with a spicy sauce…
The Castle has a beautiful air-conditioned cellar with some 10,000 bottles of 450 references; a cave known for its famous French wines such as Château Yquem, Château Mouton Rothschild and many others, without forgetting the regional wines.
