For the SS2013 season, Versus makes a strong statement in every way. The collection is fully loaded with color and texture. Archival knitwear and prints have been revived with new silhouettes and detailing.
The core theme consists of mechanical-like detailing. For example, small silver snaps are used to give the illusion that garments can be undone and rebuilt. This teamed with bold colours and plastic chain appliqué gives a very playful and youthful edge to the collection. Lace is used with a fresh approach; it appears lacquered like car body paint but still maintains a feminine edge.
Cartoonesque prints are a combination of bold oversize polka dots, cute love hearts and daisy motifs.
The fabrics range from sporty techno stretch mesh fabrics and patent shiny leather and trims, to printed silk bases, cotton knitted jacquards and transparent printed plastic. The overall effect is of a young, dynamic approach to Spring/Summer 13 dressing.
