Jean Bou Doumit, designer/architect with a unique philosophy towards using space. His work is a combination of interior, architecture, design and a main and important part related to psychology.
Space for him has to reflect the person or group using it, he is a big believer that design has to be accessible to all and not to a specific target audience or budget. From this thought the “Design Clinic” idea came up, where he would offer two consultancy sessions for individuals or couples to how can they turn a space of their own at their home to reflect them. His ultimate goal is to help the mass to understand and appreciate design and know what to buy and what not.
Design Clinic is a concept derived from a doctors clinic were the person could consult the designer in changing a specific space at his home or office. The concept is made of two consultancy sessions were Jean takes his guest into several psychological test to identify what suits best the client. Those tests are eyeopener for the client himself as at some point most of the people don’t know what they like or suit them. For Jean the space you live in should reflect who you are with the help and touch of the designer and not vice versa. After those sessions are done, the customer will be fully aware of what he has to do in the space he has or he can appoint the designer to do the job for him.
