Jewellers, goldsmiths and jewellery producers will get together in Idar-Oberstein, October 3rd – 6th 2013, at the occasion of INTERGEM 2013, the indisputable window of this city’s art and expertise in the gemstones to the whole world.
INTERGEM, the international trade fair for gemstones, jewellery and gemstone objects will showcase under one roof all the treasures idar-oberstein can offer and a lot more. A large variety of gemstones ranging from the most traditional to the rarest and fitting all budgets will be on offer by many companies holding a long tradition in the gems world.
Visitors of INTERGEM do not only chase the highest quality and the wider choice in gemstones, they are also eager to acquire more knowledge about the stones and their value and to stay up-to-date with the latest news about the stones’ market in general. A small stroll in the aisles of the fair is sufficient to fill them with new ideas for their new collections or to inspire them with creative and avant-garde designs for their unique and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Diamond cutting legend Sir Gaby Tolkowsky stated during his visit to the latest Intergem edition: “This romantic place, right in the middle of Europe, where they have been cutting gemstones for over 500 years, is Europe’s centre for gemstones and jewellery. Here you can find what I call “The key to Ali Baba’s treasure chamber.”
International renowned gemstone expert Constantin Wild from Idar-Oberstein stated: “If we can pass on the fascination, the effort and the adventure from the prospection to the processing, every gemstone almost sells itself. The Message is: Stand out by owning an exceptional gemstone.”
But Intergem experience is not only limited to Gemstones. It expands to become a preview of the coming trends focusing on the intertwined relation between gemstones and fashion. In this regard, Intergem organisers have chosen “Trends, Lifestyle, Design” as this year’s motto and have planned a trend lecture accompanied by professional models to further highlight this topic. The designer area will also be extended so that visitors will be able to learn about the aesthetics of material in combination with new forms. www.intergem.de
