The 34th edition of OroArezzo, the exhibition dedicated to goldsmith and silversmith art and jewellery from the major Italian goldsmith district, was one of the best editions of the last few years.
On 24.500 square meters of exhibition space, and with 480 companies exhibiting and over 10.000 operators coming from 81 foreign countries including 225 big buyers, OroArezzo concluded on 13-16 April 2013 one of its most important editions ever.
“We could notice a strong vitality in business, apart from the large group of international buyers and wholesalers, there were a lot of Italian retailers” stated Giovanni Tricca, the President of Arezzo Fairs & Trade Show.
In close collaboration with COLLECTION, a delegation of sixty buyers visited the show attending from different countries of the Middle East, the Gulf and North Africa. “We were delighted to attend OroArezzo and this visit enabled us to create business relations with at least fifteen companies, nine of them will be soon delivering our first orders.” stated Mr. Sadik Kosucuoglu from Orotalia, Istanbul. Visiting from Saudi Arabia, Mr. Ahmed Al Ammari said: “
Besides the quality of Italian goldsmith products proposed at the jewellery halls, the cutting-edge techniques at the machinery hall, OroArezzo is always though after for the creativity and avant-garde ideas of its exhibits; 2013 edition was no difference as it proposed a lot of trends expected to conquer the international markets in the coming seasons; earrings with fabrics of old Japanese kimonos, jewels with beetles which recall the ancient Egypt, necklaces with small screens which remember the great personalities of the ’60s… are some of the suggestions of the 34th edition of OroArezzo.
In their endeavor to create business contacts between supply and demand, and to give all the participating companies the opportunity to achieve the best results, the show created two initiatives dedicated to bijoux and fashion jewels: Bi-Jewel and Cash&Carry. These initiatives were viewed as excellent solutions for today’s economical situation, appreciated by both exhibitors and buyers.
Premiere, OroArezzo traditional contest, backed up by To_Bi_Premiere, was again an appointment with the creativity, commitment and enthusiasm of the Italian jewelry companies: through a glamorous exhibition it offered a preview of the original productions of exclusive jewelry and impressed visitors with trendy creations.
The Concert of the Symphony Orchestra “Guido D’Arezzo” was a normal conclusion to the glamorous journey in Arezzo in which visitors enjoyed business and trends but also art and culture.
The next appointment in Arezzo will be during the Autumn Encounters to be held from 22-24 October 2013. www.oroarezzo.it
PREMIÈRE 2014
WINNER OF PREMIÈRE “CREATIVITY”
A parure of a necklace, bracelets and earrings, made up of a lot of small televisions of the ’50s, tied together as they were ideal cameos. They bear the icons of those years: we can recognise the faces of great idols such as Marylin Monroe, James Dean, the Beatles, John Lennon, but also Gandhi and Pope John.
UNOAERRE
WINNER OF PREMIÈRE “TRADITION”
Demi-parure “Gazza”. A foil repousse necklace and bracelets rigorously engraved by hand to define the magpie’s feathers which follow the old techniques of the Renaissance of the avant-garde Tuscan ateliers. The demi-parure is enriched with white agates, black and white enamel and lacquers chemically realised with sulphides.
GRAZIELLA GROUP S.P.A.
WINNER OF PREMIÈRE “TREND”
A precious ruthenium necklace and bracelet, both in “Black&White” (Collection “Forme”), with jelly enamel and silk. The reward has been given for the “Trend” category. The reference to the Pop Art is clear; it is not a representation, but a cross-reference, a modern re-creation of Andy Warhol’s famous Flowers, created in his Factory in 1964.
BOVO BROTHERS
WINNER OF PREMIÈRE “TREND”
A burnished white gold “collar” necklace, with sequins put together as silk-screen printed coins with the most famous places of Italy; this is a sort of “Souvenir of Italy”, which recalls 1950’s jewels which had pendants reproducing the monuments of Italian tourist cities.
TO_BI_PREMIÈRE 2014
LEBOLE GIOIELLI
WINNER OF TO_BI_PREMIÈRE “CREATIVITY”
Kimono earrings, inspired by the Orient. The “kimono”, the traditional Japanese dress (as well as the Japanese national costume) is made of transparent plexiglass and assembled in order to look like a mannequin. The earring pair is also made up of an ideogram whose meaning in Japanese is Light. It is colourful and on the move, sensual like a geisha.
MARIA SOLE GIOIELLI
WINNER OF TO_BI_PREMIÈRE “TRADITION”
A parure of a necklace, a bracelet and earrings made up of branch-shaped elements cast in lost-wax, with crystals in grey nuances alternated to freshwater grey pearls. This is a traditional jewel, with some references to Renaissance, which recalls the natural world and arouses magic feelings.
ALCOZER & J
WINNER OF TO_BI_PREMIÈRE “TREND”
A golden metal“Keope” necklace, with resin pendants, among which there are emerald-green beetles. The name immediately recalls the Ancient Egypt and its Pharaohs which produced a lot of faience, carnelian and turquoise beetles. It is an esoteric and holy symbol, dear to the ancient people, an apotropaic talisman of endless rebirth and transformation.
QUEEN BIJOUX
WINNER OF TO_BI_PREMIÈRE “TREND”
A shiny silk “ethnic” bracelet. Cylindrical and conical ruthenium elements alternate to the transparency of plexiglass, tied together by nappa leather laces. It is an ethno-chic, nonchalant and valued jewel for a young and naturally transgressive woman, beyond all conventions.
