HOMI | The concept

HOMI is a simple name that belies its wealth of significance. The O embodies the circle that encloses and symbolically wraps around the person, their spaces and their habits, while the ending MI pays tribute to the city of Milan.

HOMI, the new brand of Fiera Milano, synonymous with wellness, excellence, and business will debut its first edition at fieramilano from 19 to 22 January 2014.

The new project is the brainchild of synergetic teamwork. HOMI is led by Cristian Preiata – Exhibition Manager, Etienne Cochet – Strategic Advisor and Alessandro Agrati – Art Director, who also brought in the collaboration of Loredana Villani and Lucy Salamanca.

For decades, Macef was the embodiment of the quintessential Italian home, with its unique, world-famous style. Over the years, the manner of decorating home spaces has changed greatly. Home is synonymous with good living but also with working from home. It is a place for entertaining but also for personal care. The home has become new; the buying public is new and so is the way of making purchases.

Homi will be the vision and description of the shop of tomorrow, to relate the lifestyles of a multicultural consumer, attentive to personal care and the health of their environment, Thanks to a dynamic, fluid circuit that emerges from the satellite concept. There will be 10 visions to live and experience thanks to the originally designed 10 areas (satellites) capable of embracing today’s man.

Every sector from Macef’s prior edition will be re-designed using new exhibition concepts and new sectors for the home and for people that relate directly to new lifestyles will be added.

Naturally, HOMI is taking over the ever important legacy of Bijoux, which as of January takes on a new identity and will merge with the FASHION&JEWELS satellite. A strategic sector strongly characterized by Italian style and taste where creativity and know-how combine to breathe life into products unique in their genre.

This satellite will host companies specializing in bijoux, jewels and stones as well as the glamorous world of accessories.
