The spectacular “Fort de Lippe” in Elvas, Portugal was recently inscribed by UNESCO as a world heritage site. To celebrate this occasion the elite luxury brand YORK is going to unveil the “Fort de Lippe”- Trilogy watch collection at 1st of November at Munichtime 2013.
The extraordinary “Fort de Lippe” collection was designed by His Highness York Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe as a tribute to his forefather, Count Wilhelm of Schaumburg-Lippe who was the successful Commander in Chief of the combined Portuguese/British/Schaumburg-Lippisch army in the war of 1762 for the independence of Portugal. Under his command he gave orders to construct the “Fort de Nossa Senhora da Graça”, which the Portuguese King later renamed “Fort de Lippe” in his honor. This magnificent Fort, among the largest and best preserved of its period, stands strong as testament to the great elegance and strength in design embraced for generations by the Schaumburg-Lippe house.
Three exquisite timepieces in 18 carat rose gold, the “Fort de Lippe – Falcon Diamond” with 3,2 ct white diamonds, the “Fort de Lippe – Blue Heritage” and the “Fort de Lippe – Original” are handsomely housed in a velvet lined case of glimmering hand-hewn solid quartz-slate. This work of art was designed and executed by the house of Kussmaul, considered one of the top design companies for custom-made production in Germany. The case, with its unique geometrical shape reflects the architectural elements of the historic stone battlements found at “Fort de Lippe”. The inside of the lid is affixed with a reproduction of an original architectural rendering of the battlement and a plate engraved with the watch series numbers. The exclusive, numbered, limited editions will be created for just nine extraordinary collectors worldwide and each shall be personally presented by His Highness York Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe. The name and date of acquisition will be commemorated on an engraved plate inside the case.
