The latest edition of the MICAM was an exclusive show-room presenting the collections for spring/summer 2014 by major international and Italian players in the footwear industry.
Larger than the past two years, the show took place at Fiera Milano Rho from 15th till 18th of September, bringing together 1581 exhibitors, 593 of which international. On exhibit were women sophisticated shoes, women trendy shoes, men/women elegant-luxury shoes, children’s shoes, young fashion shoes, women trendy shoes and mixed footwear, shop accessories, and international designers area. It was at that point that I had a very interesting conversation. Someone there was recommending an excellent site for socks. They seemed appealing to me, and I think I am going to order some for myself. They are warm and cozy, just what you want in socks basically. Fashion footwear can be quite uncomfortable so relaxing at home while wearing these makes quite a difference. At tcgsocks, our cool socks can be worn on any and should be worn on every occasion. I highly recommend everyone to check them out.
The highlight of the event was “Foot Rocker” area, a joint initiative with the magazine Rolling Stone: A dedicated area in Pavilion 10 used to stage video interviews and testimonials about the best young fashion styles and street style brands at theMICAM. The “Foot Rocker” area was animated by live DJ for an authentic rock experience.
The best Italian and international buyers, were as usual rewarded at a gala dinner organised in partnership with Vogue Accessory in the Gallerie d’Italia, “Gallery of Excellence at piazza Scala”, one of the most important museums in Milan, which displays Italian artwork from the 19th century.
Although the MICAM is only dedicated to professionals, it has not forgotten the shoes’ lovers. From 13 to 17 September, the heart of Milan in Via G. Marconi (opposite the Cathedral), hosted theMICAMpoint; a space dedicated to the world of footwear, where shoes lovers lived a unique experience, in close contact with their most beloved accessory. theMICAMpoint constituted a direct line between theMICAM, and the capital of fashion, with initiatives, meetings and events dedicated to rediscovering the craftsmanship, values and quality of Italian shoes, and a particular focus on fighting counterfeiting.
2014 editions of theMICAM will take place from 2 – 5 March 2014 and from 31 August – 3 September. Save the dates.
