HOMI, The Grand New Macef
September 2013 was the date of the last Macef edition in the format that was launched 50 years ago. HOMI, the new trade fair centred squarely on the style and surroundings of the individual, is scheduled to take over as of January 2014 from 19 to 22.
“After fifty years we decided to give Macef a brand new identity. The change had to happen if we were to continue meeting the needs of consumers. Today’s market spans the entire globe and we simply could not afford to miss this growth opportunity” stated Enrico Pazzali, Chief Executive Officer of Fiera Milano.
HOMI is set to open its doors at the Fiera Milano in January 2014 offering a unique and international platform where business runs along with pleasure, culture and relaxation.
Visitors are first greeted at a special themed Welcome Area that showcases products hosted at the satellite and prepares them for their visit. The first impact with products occurs at the Format Store, an exclusive lifestyle-inspired display concept featuring creations from headline companies in different satellites, telling their story alongside “guests” from other satellites as part of a unique and exciting experience. Each of the four Format Stores has its own curator: “Kitchen and dining” in Pavilion 2 is curated by Luca Trazzi; “Living Habits” in Pavilion 3 by Artex-Centro per l’Artigianato Artistico e Tradizionale della Toscana; “Garden & Outdoor” in Pavilion 7 by Valeria Randazzo; and “Fashion & Jewels” in Pavilion 9 by Tini Bagattini and Rita Spaggiari.
Once visitors have reached the exhibition area, the HOMI atmosphere continues at two sections in each satellite: HOMI Sperimenta is packed with R&D-led ideas, projects and work by young talents, while HOMI Special is an area for unique ventures and experiences.
HOMI Special is a carousel of fun, forward-looking re-visitations, like the area ” La Magnifica Forma” that offers an unfolding tale at the Living Habits satellite designed to elicit amazement and reflection.
Welcoming Business Lounges at each satellite are open to all industry professionals and buyers to share their discoveries at HOMI in total comfort.
A visit to HOMI between 19 and 22 January 2014 is set to be a unique experience created by many smaller ones. www.homimilano.com
