In response to industry demands for a commercially focused jewelry sourcing platform in Europe, UBM launched the Jewellery & Gem Fair Europe which run its inaugural edition from 1 till 4 April 2014 at Messe Freiburg.
Hosting over 430 exhibitors the show featured 10 group pavilions showcasing finished jewellery, diamonds, coloured gemstones, and processing technologies and tools. Participations from 33 countries and regions including Belgium, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Thailand and the United States… gathered at the inaugural JGF Europe.
Expert-led Seminar Sessions were conducted by the German Gemmological Society and the USE Education Centre of Pforzheim with interesting topics including among others, high-tech gemmology, value types in the jewellery industry, classification and processing of precious stones…
JGF-Europe has joined forces with the City of Freiburg (FWTM) to provide its visitors with guided, jewellery-focused tours of the city regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, with a long history in precious metals and gemstones. This scenic walking tours took place in the afternoon of each show day, commencing from outside St. Martin’s Church in the city centre covering the history of the Freiburg and its jewellery industry, enabling international visitors to generate added value from their visit. www.jgf-europe.com.
