PANTONE’S COLORS FOR 2015 REVEALED WITH TRENDING COLORED STONES

Gem and jewelry is one of the products in fashion category which needs to be adapted in line with fashion trends. Apart from designs and concepts of new collections which reflect each brand’s identity, color is another crucial element which should be closely watched in gem and jewelry industry. As in every year, the color expert Pantone has now revealed the new color trend for 2015.

Radiant Orchid was selected as Pantone’s color of the year in 2014 with highly positive response. New collections in this color have been found in all product categories including fashion, leather goods and cosmetics. As for 2015, there will be a shift towards cooler and softer tones. Pantone’s colors for next spring include Aquamarine, Scuba Blue, Lucite Green, Classic Blue, Toasted Almond, Strawberry Ice, Tangerine, Custard, Marsala andGlacier Gray, while colors specifically chosen for men’s fashion are Dusk Blue, Glacier Gray, Treetop, Classic Blue, Toasted Almond, Woodbine, Sandstone, Titanium, Marsala and Lavender Herb.

This color trend is inspired by the “en plein air” concept which focuses on soothing comfort and relaxation in natural outdoor environment where people can escape from the hectic pace of their daily lives. As a result, trending colors for next year are in natural or neutral tones which exude the feeling of warmth and gentleness.

Pantone will officially announce its full color trend at the end of the year. However, Thailand’s gem and jewelry industry should now take this opportunity to plan for new designs/collections according to the new color theme.
