She is Carine Gilson; the fashion designer who brought lace to an upper level. For the last 30 years in Brussels, Carine Gilson has been creating couture lingerie that combines silk and lace. Pieces from the Maison Carine Gilson have been worn by famous singers or actresses around the world. In 2019, Carine Gilson is joining forces with the Maison de dentelle Sophie Hallette to design and create her own lace, which will be the brand’s identity for its timeless signature pieces.
With Beautiful Lace & Carine Gilson (10.07.19 > 19.04.20), the Fashion & Lace Museum invites visitors to discover the sensual, sophisticated world of Carine Gilson and also offers a historic dialogue with lace through symbolic pieces from the incomparable collection of the Museums of the City of Brussels.
In this new exhibition, the Brussels designer reveals what inspires her: the Garden of Eden and Japanese-inspired kimonos, as well as Art Nouveau and the works of famous painters.
