Jewellery, Gem & Technology Dubai (JGT Dubai) inaugural edition set for 22 – 24 February
Preparations are now in full swing for Jewellery, Gem & Technology Dubai (JGT Dubai) – the industry’s first international B2B sourcing fair of 2022. Powered by two of the world’s biggest events organisers – Informa Markets Jewellery and the Italian Exhibition Group SpA (IEG), the three-day physical show aims to spark fresh ideas and inspiring conversations between global buyers and suppliers in one of the world’s most dynamic hubs for jewellery and precious stones – Dubai, the “City of Gold.”
Debuting on 22 – 24 February 2022 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), JGT Dubai is supported by official partner, DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre), and industry partner, Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG). Receiving strong industry-wide backing, JGT Dubai’s inaugural edition couldn’t have been timed better for companies that are eager for a fresh start since the pandemic hit.
To date, major finished jewellery manufacturers such as Giovanni Ferraris of Italy, KGK Jewellery (HK) Ltd and DL Liapis Jewellery Co of Greece, and gemstone suppliers AV Gems of Germany, KP Sanghvi and Sheetal Middle East DMCC are among JGT Dubai’s select exhibitors.
Technology solutions providers such as Legor, Doma Automation, Italimpianti Orafi and 3D Print, and members of AFEMO (Italian Association of Jewellery Machinery Manufacturers and Exporters) are also among those participating in the fair’s inaugural edition.
Strong industry support
“Finally, we are going to see the new Dubai jewellery exhibition in February 2022, where two of the world’s largest events organisers are joining together to bring us one of the first world-class B2B exhibitions in Dubai,” commented Tawhid Abdulla, Chairman of DGJG.
“I am happy that a show of this magnitude is happening at an ideal time as this would definitely help boost sentiments among industry players. We look forward to being a part of the new show and offer our wholehearted support in organising JGT Dubai,” said Colin Shah, Chairman of India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
Ken Lo, President of the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA), lauded IEG and Informa for coming together and forming “a united front to bring business opportunities to the jewellery community worldwide.”
This “pioneer initiative” has the support of the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), added Clement Sabbagh, President of ICA. “We have no doubt that a sourcing event in Dubai is bound to succeed and it will certainly become a valuable instrument in strengthening the knowledge and appreciation of coloured gemstones, not only in the Middle East, but even worldwide,” Sabbagh shared.
Lawrence Ma, Founding President & Chairman of the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong (DFHK), is “confident that this show will bring a unique buyer’s experience for the jewellery world.”
“Not only will the new show be a significant addition to the annual trade fair calendar, but particularly at this point in time, it also is a vote of confidence by three of the most important participants in our industry – IEG, Informa Markets and DMCC – in the health and the future of the jewellery business,” according to Gaetano Cavalieri, President of CIBJO (World Jewellery Confederation).
An international jewellery fair for wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers
JGT Dubai offers suppliers the opportunity to unlock the full potential of a combined market of 4 billion consumers – all within seven hours of flying time from Dubai. The buying opportunity is especially focused on wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers from the Middle East, India, Russia, Southern Europe and North Africa.
For buyers, the marketplace grants them exclusive access to an outstanding roster of international manufacturers, designers and jewellery ateliers, and the opportunity to explore and discover forward-thinking trends in jewellery, gemstones and industry-related technology and services – all under one roof.
JGT Dubai will also be held during the largest cultural event ever staged in the Middle East – Expo 2020 Dubai, which commenced on 1 October 2021 and will run through 31 March 2022.
