Boucheron, the renowned French jewelry house, has drawn inspiration from a beloved piece of jewelry that has been a part of the British Royal Family since 1937. The Art Deco double clip brooch, gifted to Princess Elizabeth on her 18th birthday, has been reinterpreted through 18 contemporary designs in Boucheron’s latest collection, “Histoire de Style, Like a Queen.”
The Creative Director of Boucheron, Claire Choisne, was captivated by the severe yet graceful design of the brooch and its sentimental value, having been worn by Queen Elizabeth II at numerous significant moments in her reign. The collection showcases an exercise in creativity, as each piece reflects the unique spirit of the original brooch while also incorporating modern touches and versatile wear options for both men and women.
The collection stands out with its playful use of color, as seen in the cherry ruby necklace, pink tourmaline brooch, and aquamarine cuff bracelet, all inspired by the bright outfits famously worn by Queen Elizabeth. From the deep blue of a six-carat Ceylon sapphire to the frosty white of diamonds and rock crystal, “Histoire de Style, Like a Queen” transcends its original inspiration and offers a glimpse into the true brilliance of Boucheron’s design.
The collection also includes shape-shifting pieces such as the Frosty White necklace, which offers six different configurations, and a ring set with a 3.08-carat central diamond that may also be worn as a solitaire. The Green Garden platinum ring, horizontally inspired by the double Art Deco design, is a simple yet elegant piece that showcases Boucheron’s craftsmanship.
