“Design; past, present, future”
The Tigullio Design District (TDD), is the first international design event taking place in the Gulf of Tigullio, Italy, between the “5 Lands” area and Genoa, near the famous Portofino Bay.
The theme for 2023 is “Design: past, present, future.” TDD is the first event of its kind, with a focus on design linked to the sea, including yachts, nautical products, accessories, coastal waterfronts, and marine environments. It also showcases outdoor furniture, street furniture, and green technology projects.
The Gulf of Tigullio is an Italian icon of “dolce vita” and scenic beauty, making it the perfect backdrop for showcasing luxury design. TDD has already attracted attention and interest from many professionals and enthusiasts, making it a great opportunity for designers, companies, and design enthusiasts from around the world to come together.
The upcoming TDD event will take place from April 17th to 23rd, 2023, and all information and multimedia content of Italian and international guests will be made public via the website www.tigulliodesigndistrict.com and Instagram @tigulliodesigndistrict. The decision to hold the event at the same time as the Milan Design Week allows the two events to complement each other, creating a new international location for design lovers.
TDD is strategically positioned, linking Genoa, La Spezia, and the “5 Lands” area, making it the first Ligurian international design event. It creates a unique axis for Liguria, making it the best place for the blue economy and beyond. The Tigullio Design District has already partnered with 18 global design organizations, 16 Country Ambassadors, 22 Italian design week partners, 29 local partners in the Gulf of Tigullio and Liguria, and 55 media partners promoting the event worldwide.
TDD is a widespread event taking place in the entire area of the Gulf of Tigullio, including the most beautiful and special corners of the territory itself. The event includes historic buildings, typical alleys, shops and showrooms, marinas and port areas, beaches and bays on the sea, schools and cultural centers, breathtaking hotels on the Riviera, studios and offices of local designers and architects, and much more. This creates a great territorial “open space” event without barriers, full of cultural contamination, and offering a variety of options for everyone.
TDD is the perfect opportunity to rediscover the world of design in a unique place, representing a creative response to the desire for rebirth of existing local realities, companies, designers, young talent, and creatives. It is an opportunity for professionals and businesses to come together, share ideas, and grow both professionally and personally.
