From the 29th of September to the 1st of October, the doors of Idar-Oberstein’s Trade Fair Centre will swing open to reveal a world of opulence and innovation.
Drawing an international crowd, this year’s event boasts 85 exhibitors coming from 11 countries, with enthusiasts traveling from as far afield as the USA, Australia, and even Greenland.

A Grand Inauguration: The grand inauguration on Friday at 1 pm promises distinguished speakers, including Daniela Schmitt, the Minister of Economics, Transport, Agriculture, and Viticulture of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, and Dr. Heide Rezepa-Zabel, an eminent art historian, gemologist, and renowned expert.
This year, a highlight is the premiere of the GemTec Symposium and exhibition. Here, discerning attendees can glean insights from experts on the intricate processing of hard-brittle materials, with luminaries such as Dr. Florian Kanal from SCHOTT Mainz shedding light on the latest grinding techniques. Following the day’s proceedings, at 6 pm, the trade fair team, in collaboration with the esteemed caterer Thomas Kreis, invites exhibitors and visitors to a delightful get-together featuring exquisite wine and delectable food.
Fashion Meets Glamour: On Saturday and Sunday, the INTERGEM Lounge will come alive with the Jewellery Show by Katerina Perez. At 3 pm, attractive models will grace the catwalk, showcasing an array of elegant and unconventional jewelry pieces. Katerina Perez, a prominent influencer, will weave her magic, revealing a keen eye for creative and spectacular jewelry, the latest trends, and, for the first time, loose colored stones.
The weekend’s supporting program will also feature a series of engaging lectures by exhibitors, delving into unconventional but interesting topics.

An Enchanting Evening: Building on the success of 2022, the Long Night of Gemstones returns for a second enchanting evening. On Saturday, from 7 pm to midnight, eight captivating locations will open their doors to curious visitors, free of charge. As you explore the unique venues related to the jewelry and gemstone industry, including the German Gemstone Museum and the Steinkaulenberg gemstone mine, you’ll be treated to an evening of technical marvels, captivating programs, and insightful guided tours.
The festivities kick off at 6.45 pm at the Historische Weiherschleife, with speeches by Cécile Elligsten, the reigning German Gemstone Queen and patron of the Long Night of Gemstones, and Dr. Heide Rezepa-Zabel.
