THE L.LEROY MINUTE REPEATER FLYING TOURBILLON

In the heart of Paris, where history whispers through cobblestone streets and elegance is woven into the fabric of daily life, a legacy of craftsmanship began in 1785…

Founded by Charles Leroy, L.Leroy has etched its name in the annals of horology, creating timepieces that transcend to become works of art. Today, the Maison celebrates this illustrious heritage with a singular creation: the “L.Leroy Minute Repeater Flying Tourbillon,” a grand complication piece available exclusively at the prestigious Cellini Boutique in New York.

The journey through time is a tale rich with innovation and artistry. From the royal wrist of Marie Antoinette to the discerning tastes of Proust, Matisse, and Napoleon, L.Leroy watches have adorned the wrists of history’s most illustrious figures.

The latest marvel, the “L.Leroy Minute Repeater Flying Tourbillon,” draws inspiration from a rare pendant tact watch created around 1810 for Prince Emil Maximilian Leopold August of Hesse. This historical gem, part of the Patek Philippe Museum collection, allowed its owner to tell time by touch, a necessity in an era before electric light and luminous hands. L.Leroy has reimagined this concept for the modern connoisseur, seamlessly blending heritage with contemporary sophistication.

Encased in a 43mm body of polished grade 5 titanium and 18K palladium white gold, every element of this timepiece speaks of meticulous attention to detail. The hand-engraved floral motifs on the case required an astounding 120 hours of expert work. The dial is a rotating masterpiece adorned with a flinqué soleil decoration and a translucent aquamarine varnish. The fixed, arrow-shaped hour hand, crafted in rhodium-plated and hand-engraved, points to diamond markers that sparkle like stars against the aquamarine backdrop. These 24 diamonds, totaling 1.35 carats, elegantly indicate the hours and half-hours.

At the heart of this exquisite timepiece lies a hand-wound in-house calibre, consisting of 321 components. This movement not only powers the minute repeater and flying tourbillon but also offers a 90-hour power reserve. The minute repeater mechanism, often hailed as the queen of complications, audibly chimes the hours, quarters, and minutes with perfect clarity.

The transparent case back, protected by an engraved 18K white gold cover, reveals the workings of the movement. This design choice allows collectors and enthusiasts to admire the delicate interplay of gears and springs, all meticulously hand-finished and assembled.

This unique piece, priced at USD 370,000, is complemented by an aquamarine calfskin strap, perfectly matching the dial and fastened with an engraved folding clasp bearing L.Leroy’s iconic double “L” logo. Every detail of this watch, from its exquisite hand-engraving to its advanced mechanical prowess, speaks of luxury and refinement.

For the discerning collector, the “L.Leroy Minute Repeater Flying Tourbillon” is a legacy that embodies the perfect harmony of historical significance and contemporary innovation, and a treasure to be cherished and admired. Available exclusively at Cellini in New York, this masterpiece awaits a wrist worthy of its grandeur.
