VACHERON CONSTANTIN LIMITED EDITION PATRIMONY WATCH

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of its iconic Patrimony collection, Vacheron Constantin has introduced a stunning new timepiece—a self-winding limited edition that elegantly blends timeless design with modern craftsmanship. This milestone piece, born out of a long-standing collaboration with renowned French designer Ora ïto, showcases the perfect harmony between simplicity and complexity.

Originally launched in 2004, the Patrimony collection was inspired by the rich history of Vacheron Constantin, particularly its elegant models from the 1950s. These timepieces were renowned for their ultra-thin calibres, including the iconic manual-winding Calibre 1001, which at just 2.94mm thick set new standards for precision and slim design. The collection draws from this legacy, with a focus on understated aesthetics and remarkable craftsmanship. Over the last two decades, Patrimony watches have remained synonymous with subtle sophistication, characterized by their clean lines, slim bezels, and curved dials adorned with slender hour markers and baton-type hands.

The new Patrimony self-winding limited edition continues this tradition, offering a modern yet vintage-inspired interpretation of the horological heritage of Vacheron Constantin.

Ora ïto, a long-time admirer of the Patrimony collection, has been a part of Vacheron Constantin’s “One of Not Many” talent campaign since 2019. Known for his “Simplexity” philosophy—a blend of simplicity and hidden complexity—Ora ïto’s vision aligns perfectly with the Patrimony ethos. His design approach, which simplifies the appearance of objects while concealing intricate technical details, is evident in the new timepiece.

This limited-edition watch features a 40mm yellow gold case and a monochrome dial with concentric circles that catch the light, a design element inspired by the natural phenomenon of Baily’s beads seen during a solar eclipse. Ora ïto’s fascination with astronomy is echoed in the minimalist circular geometry of the watch, adding a layer of poetic meaning to the piece. The tone-on-tone gold dial, slender gold hour markers, and a burgundy calfskin leather strap with 1970s-inspired graphic motifs create a harmonious blend of past and present.

Beneath its deceptively simple exterior, the new Patrimony timepiece conceals a highly sophisticated movement. Powered by the in-house Calibre 2450, a self-winding mechanical movement, this watch features hours, minutes, seconds, and a discreet date display at 6 o’clock. The openworked gold oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, proudly displays the Maltese cross—a signature emblem of the Maison. The timepiece boasts exceptional finishing touches, including circular graining on the mainplate and the Côte de Genève pattern on the bridges.

With only 100 pieces available, this limited edition Patrimony watch is a symbol of refined elegance and technical mastery. The watch is water-resistant to 30 meters and offers a power reserve of approximately 40 hours, making it both a functional and luxurious accessory for any discerning collector.
