BELL & ROSS BR-X5 BLUE LUM

… A SHINING INNOVATION IN WATCHMAKING

With a reputation for innovative design and mastery in luminescence, Bell & Ross unveils its latest gem: the BR-X5 Blue Lum. This limited-edition watch, with only 500 pieces available, extends the legacy of the “Lum” series, building on last year’s popular BR-X5 Green Lum. For watch aficionados and luxury enthusiasts alike, the BR-X5 Blue Lum represents a brilliant marriage of design, precision, and luminescent technology.

Bell & Ross, known for pushing the boundaries of watchmaking, with the BR-X5 Blue Lum, they’ve taken this to new heights; Unlike conventional watches that use luminescent markers only on the hands or dial, Bell & Ross introduces an entire case that glows. The secret lies in LM3D, a photoluminescent composite material developed in-house, combining quartz fibers with luminescent compounds to emit a striking blue glow. This breakthrough offers a vivid new shade to the Lum series and demonstrates the possibilities of luminescence in luxury watches.

The BR-X5 line distinguishes itself from the urban BR-05 series by embodying a rugged, avant-garde aesthetic designed for performance. Crafted in a 41mm case, the Blue Lum’s multi-layer construction alternates between LM3D and black DLC micro-blasted grade 2 titanium. Inspired by the aeronautical world, this construction balances lightweight resilience with a striking, futuristic look. Designed by Bruno Belamich, the brand’s Creative Director, the case structure encapsulates a block of titanium in layers of LM3D, creating an architectural masterpiece that radiates light and reinforces its robustness.

Built with the modern adventurer in mind, the BR-X5 Blue Lum ensures impeccable readability. The matte black dial, housed under an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, provides the perfect contrast for its luminescent elements. Each index is sharply defined, from the power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock to the date window at 3 o’clock, allowing wearers to read time effortlessly. The skeletonized hour and minute hands filled with Super-LumiNova enhance visibility, glowing with the same powerful blue hue as the case—ensuring clarity day or night.

The journey of Bell & Ross with luminescence dates back to their earliest days, progressing through many iterations of their Lum series. Pioneering the Full Lum concept, Bell & Ross started with the BR 03-92 Horolum in 2017, and each subsequent model has pushed the boundaries of luminescence. With the BR-X5 Blue Lum, the brand takes this legacy further, crafting an entirely luminous case—a first for their timepieces.

Beyond its striking design, the BR-X5 Blue Lum is engineered for high performance. The watch is powered by the BR-CAL.323 automatic mechanical movement, developed exclusively for Bell & Ross. With a 70-hour power reserve, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and COSC chronometer certification, this movement meets rigorous standards of accuracy. Adding a touch of elegance, the oscillating weight features a design inspired by sports car rims, visible through a sapphire case back.

The journey of Bell & Ross began in 1994, founded by Carlos-A. Rosillo and Bruno Belamich, two friends passionate about combining watchmaking and aviation. The iconic “circle within a square” design of the BR 01, introduced in 2005, cemented the brand’s identity. Each Bell & Ross collection—from the professional BR 03 series to the urban BR 05, and now the experimental BR-X5—echoes this dedication to design and function.

Today, Bell & Ross is represented in over 80 countries, partnering with notable organizations like La Patrouille de France and the Tara Océans Foundation. The BR-X5 Blue Lum is yet another milestone in the brand’s mission to innovate and captivate. For collectors and enthusiasts seeking a watch that truly illuminates the wrist, the BR-X5 Blue Lum is an extraordinary blend of science, style, and substance.
