BAGLIETTO CELEBRATES 170 YEARS OF ITALIAN YACHT EXCELLENCE

Baglietto, a renowned Italian yacht builder, celebrated its 170th anniversary with a two-day event in La Spezia, highlighting the brand’s legacy, history, and innovation.

Immersed in sophistication, the festivities kicked off with a grand evening that was graced by approximately 250 attendees, consisting of prominent individuals from the yachting sector, community leaders, and trusted companions of Baglietto. Presented by the renowned Lorena Bianchetti, the event celebrated the company’s history by incorporating Italian traditions with a modern perspective on the yachting industry.

A key moment of the night was the introduction of Baglietto: The Art of Yachting Since 1854, a special book written by Antonio Macaluso and released by Rizzoli. The book is scheduled to be released in stores on 29 October, exploring Baglietto’s nearly 200-year evolution, showcasing the brand’s prestigious past and dedication to progress.

The unveiling of the 70-foot Open, “Chato II,” showcased the innovation. This modern ship represents the innovation and adventurous essence that has driven Baglietto since its establishment in 1854. Created by Francesco Paszkowski, “Chato II” pays tribute to its famous predecessor for setting speed records, while also showcasing Baglietto’s ongoing dedication to quality.

The occasion not only highlighted Baglietto’s extensive legacy but also emphasized its dedication to sustainability. The BZero green hydrogen production system fueled the entire night, demonstrating a sustainable future for boating. This live showcase highlighted Baglietto’s commitment to blending luxury with environmental consciousness, showing the brand’s dedication to advancement and conservation.

CEO Diego Michele Deprati commemorated the weekend by honoring both the impressive heritage of the Baglietto brand and the essential efforts of its employees. Deprati reflected on the company’s journey, stating, “We chose to celebrate this important event in two equally significant parts: the gala evening paid tribute to the local and regional authorities in a more formal occasion, while Saturday’s celebration focused on the people—the women and men who truly represent the heart of Baglietto.”

The festivities continued into Saturday with an open day inviting around 500 guests, including families of employees and long-standing friends of the brand. Despite a rainy day, guests enjoyed a lively and welcoming environment, where they could explore an immersive exhibition, Tales of the Blue, which traced the story of Baglietto’s maritime adventures. The experience, housed in a transportable container, was designed to bring Baglietto’s history to life through evocative images and interactive displays.

Attendees also enjoyed exclusive behind-the-scenes access to Baglietto’s facilities, getting an up-close look at yachts under construction, an experience enhanced by the cheerful atmosphere and games set up for the younger visitors. Even the A1 basketball team of Bertram Derthona joined in on the fun, thrilling the crowd with a surprise appearance.

Baglietto’s event reflects a profound commitment to both its roots and its future. With two production sites in La Spezia and Carrara, Baglietto continues to invest in expanding its manufacturing capabilities to produce yachts that span up to 65 meters. From bold visions in the mid-19th century to ambitious strides in modern yachting, Baglietto remains a quintessential symbol of Italian craftsmanship and design.
