Art Paris, the premier spring event for modern and contemporary art, is set to make a grand return to its iconic location, the Grand Palais, from 3 to 6 April. This edition promises to be more ambitious than ever, showcasing a diverse array of artistic expressions from around the globe.

What makes Art Paris unique is its ability to be both regional and cosmopolitan, providing a platform for discovery. While 60% of the exhibitors are from France, 40% are international, creating a rich tapestry of artistic dialogue. The fair is also committed to supporting young galleries and emerging artists, ensuring the vitality and future of the art world.

This year, Art Paris will feature new themes, exhibitions, prizes, and panel discussions, adding layers of depth and engagement to the fair. Invited guest curators will explore two compelling themes, the resurgence of figurative painting in France and the dynamic interplay of multiethnicity and cultural hybridization in contemporary creation.

Curators Amélie Adamo and Numa Hambursin, who previously collaborated on the groundbreaking “Immortal” exhibition in 2023, return to Art Paris to further explore the evolving landscape of French figurative painting. Their curated selection of thirty artists will offer a fresh perspective on the historical context and intergenerational dialogues within this dynamic movement. Defying fleeting trends, their exhibition seeks to highlight the enduring nature of figurative painting in France and its profound connection to the artistic traditions of the past.

The exhibition will also examine how, at a time when abstraction and new mediums dominate, figurative painting remains a powerful and evolving form of artistic expression throughout Europe. A catalogue will accompany the exhibition, and a series of panel discussions will delve deeper into the theme.

Curator Simon Lamunière will present “Out of Bounds,” featuring 18 international artists. This exhibition will celebrate the rich tapestry of contemporary creation, exploring themes of origins, gender, kinship, history, and geography through the lens of multiethnicity and the hybridization of forms and cultures.

In a nod to the centenary of the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, Art Paris will launch the French Design Art Edition. This new sector, in partnership with Le FRENCH DESIGN, will showcase contemporary design and decorative arts. Eighteen exhibitors, including interior designers, designers, design companies, and galleries, will present unique creations, limited series, and contemporary interior design. A group show will further explore the dynamic relationship between art and design, contemporary creation, and traditional artisanship.

The “Promises” sector, curated by Marc Donnadieu, will provide a platform for young galleries and emerging artists. This sector will host twenty-five galleries created less than ten years ago, with a significant international presence.

In addition to the curated exhibitions, Art Paris will feature 26 monographic exhibitions, offering visitors an in-depth look at the work of modern, contemporary, and emerging artists. Special presentations, such as “Le chuchotement des mains” by Maison de maroquinerie Camille Fournet Paris and “NEUMA, The Forgotten Ceremony,” an installation by Sarah Brahim and Ugo Schiavi, will further enrich the fair’s offerings.

Art Paris is committed to supporting the arts and recognizing excellence. The BNP Paribas Banque Privée Prize will reward the career of a living artist selected from the “Immortal” exhibition. In a new initiative, the Her Art Prize, in partnership with Marie Claire and Boucheron, will honor women artists, celebrating their unique contributions to the art world.

Art Paris 2025 promises to be a dynamic and engaging event, showcasing the best of modern and contemporary art while fostering dialogue and discovery. With its return to the Grand Palais, the fair reaffirms its position as a leading force in the international art world.
