Trends and Training Define the September Edition of Milano Fashion&Jewels 2025

The September edition of Milano Fashion&Jewels (MFJ) has opened its doors at Fiera Milano Rho, as the strategic starting point for Milan Fashion Week and the beating heart of international fashion retail. Against a backdrop of sector resilience and transformation, the event brought together 660 brands from 34 countries for four days of business, trend-spotting, and professional development.

This edition underscored a significant evolution, where MFJ is no longer just a sourcing destination but an indispensable platform for retailers navigating a rapidly changing market. With 41% of exhibitors being newcomers, the show offered a fresh and dynamic product mix, reflecting its successful scouting efforts in key international fashion capitals.

The exhibition’s layout was strategically designed to help buyers build coherent and distinctive store assortments and the offer was divided into three core areas:

Jewellery & Bijoux: A key growth driver, with exports forecast to surge by 9.2% in 2025. The focus was on affordable, fashion-oriented pieces that drive impulse purchases, with luxury redefined through innovative materials like artistic glass, porcelain, and bronze.

Fashion Accessories: This segment includes items like bags, leather goods, and other non-jewellery accessories, completing the fashion mix with versatile, ready-to-sell pieces.

Apparel: The third pillar features clothing and versatile garments, allowing retailers to source complete head-to-toe looks and enrich the customer experience with a full range of products.

Special sections addressed specific market needs and MFJ Delivery focused on immediate-delivery solutions, while READYTOSHOW showcased private-label collections. The Exploring Sustainable Fashion area, curated by Guya Manzoni and Marina Savarese, tackled the theme “The Bright Side and Dark Side of Sustainability,” encouraging a critical dialogue on ethical practices.

Recognizing that modern retail requires more than just products, MFJ has placed a strong emphasis on education; the rich program of talks and workshops, dubbed the MFJ Retail Academy, is built on three pillars:

Trend Intelligence: The event opened with Design Directions: The Story of Trends, unveiling the macro-trends STREETUALS and SENSCAPE for the 2026-2027 seasons.

Retail Strategy: Sessions on neuromarketing and visual merchandising provide practical tools to enhance the shopping experience and boost sales.

Sustainability & Digitalization: Roundtables like “Beyond Appearances” and workshops on digital tools for SMEs address the industry’s most pressing challenges and opportunities.

The exhibition’s vitality mirrored the positive economic data for the sector, according to ExportPlanning, Italian exports of fashion accessories and bijoux are set for 6.3% average annual growth, potentially surpassing €6 billion by 2028. The domestic market is also recovering, with bijoux consumption up 39% compared to 2019.

The sector is showing clear signs of transformation and strong adaptive capacity, highlighting resilience despite global uncertainties. The US remains the top export destination, but growing demand from Asia and the UAE is broadening the international landscape for Italian brands.

In 2026, MFJ will join forces with MICAM, MIPEL, TheOneMilano, and Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni to create Fashion Link Milano. This new, integrated platform will unite footwear, leather goods, jewellery, accessories, and apparel under one roof, establishing a comprehensive and strategic hub for global buyers seeking coherent, cross-sector assortments.

By blending an international marketplace with deep educational content, Milano Fashion&Jewels becomes an essential ecosystem for professionals aiming to decode trends, innovate their strategies, and thrive in the future of fashion retail.

Save the date for 2026 as Milano Fashion&Jewels will take place from 21 to 23 February.
