Following the success of the DOM133 and the rapidly growing order book for the DOM115, the Italian shipyard has officially introduced the DOM155, the new flagship of its acclaimed DOM line. This under-500 GT displacement motor yacht is a strategic evolution, crafted to meet the sophisticated demands of a clientele that has wholeheartedly embraced the modern interpretation of the Roman domus at sea: a sanctuary of warmth, refinement, and effortless livability.
Stefano Vafiadis, the architect behind the DOM line’s distinctive aesthetic, describes the DOM155’s exterior as “clean and sculptural”. The increased length (approximately 47 meters) has been masterfully integrated, enhancing the profile’s sleekness and harmony without compromising its assertive character. Longitudinal cuts and taut, defined volumes draw inspiration from automotive design, resulting in a form that is balanced yet possesses an understated aggression, a hallmark of contemporary luxury.
Staying true to the line’s technical foundations, the DOM155 is constructed in aluminium, a choice first implemented on the DOM133. This material is pivotal to the brand’s value proposition, it enables significant customization while also contributing to improved performance, efficiency, and a shallow draft. The latter feature is a deliberate and calculated appeal to the crucial American market, where coastal cruising and accessibility to bespoke marinas are paramount.
“The DOM155 is the direct result of our dialogue with owners and the broader market”, explains Fabio Ermetto, Baglietto’s Chief Commercial Officer. “While the 35m and 41m models were enthusiastically received, there was clear demand for greater volume. Developed in close collaboration with Stefano Vafiadis, this project synthesizes years of owner feedback into a yacht offering unparalleled levels of comfort, customization, and livability within the sub-500 GT segment”.
The architecture of the DOM155 culminates at the stern, which is conceived as a dedicated sanctuary for wellbeing, where a central panoramic infinity pool forms the heart of this area, flanked by two grand staircases leading to the aft cockpit. Ingeniously, the port-side staircase is engineered to lower, providing direct technical access to the expansive beach club below.
This multifunctional lower deck space exemplifies the yacht’s versatility. It can be configured as a full wellness area complete with spa and gym, benefitting from immense natural light and sea views through a large, fold-down shell door that also allows direct access from a tender. Alternatively, the entire area can be transformed into an extended garage to accommodate a larger tender, showcasing the design’s operational flexibility.
The DOM line’s philosophy of seamless indoor-outdoor living is elevated in the DOM155. Expansive, floor-to-ceiling glazing and fully opening doors on the main deck create a fluid continuum between the interior salon and the exterior lounge and dining area, which features a table for ten.
The owner’s suite on the main deck is a private domain in itself, comprising an office with a walk-in closet, a master bedroom centered on a California king-size bed, and a spacious his-and-hers bathroom with a walk-through shower. Accommodation for guests is equally generous, with four en-suite cabins on the lower deck and the option for a fifth on the upper deck. Forward, the crew area comfortably houses eight staff in four cabins.
The upper deck salon, open on three sides, serves as a luminous panoramic observatory. Adjacent outdoor spaces are dedicated to alfresco dining and relaxation. Forward of the wheelhouse, a private lounge offers guests a secluded retreat while underway.
Crowning the vessel is the 130-square-meter sun deck, a 360-degree entertainer’s paradise. Complete with sunpads, a conversation lounge, and a second infinity pool flanked by an integrated bar, it is the ultimate venue for onboard social life.
Propelled by twin CAT C32 engines, the DOM155 will achieve a maximum speed of 16 knots, aligning with the efficient, long-range cruising capabilities expected in this class.
The yacht will be built at Baglietto’s extensively modernized La Spezia headquarters, a facility recently bolstered by a massive 1,200-ton travel lift, the largest in Europe, capable of handling yachts up to 65 meters. This infrastructure investment highlights the commitment of Baglietto to capacity, quality, and technical ambition.
The first DOM155 unit is scheduled for delivery in early 2029, marking the next chapter for a line that has successfully redefined the concept of the contemporary, family-oriented megayacht, where Italian design excellence meets a deep, client-centric understanding of life at sea.
