ART PARIS 2025: ARTISTIC DIVERSITY AND EXCELLENCE

Returning for its 27th edition from 3 to 6 April, 2025, Art Paris promises to captivate the art world with an even more ambitious and expansive showcase at the newly renovated Grand Palais.

As spring’s leading modern and contemporary art event, the fair boasts an impressive 170 exhibitors from 25 countries, reflecting a remarkable growth of 34 participants compared to last year.

This year’s edition sees 60% of the galleries hailing from France, while 40% represent international exhibitors. Notably, 36% of the participants are new. From established names like Galerie Nathalie Obadia and Templon to newcomers such as Sabrina Amrani (Madrid) and Wilde (Geneva), the selection highlights the depth and diversity of the art world.

The Promises sector, dedicated to emerging galleries, takes center stage on the southern balconies of the Grand Palais. Curated by Marc Donnadieu, this expanded space features 25 galleries, 17 of which are debuting at Art Paris. With participants from regions as diverse as South Africa, Kuwait, and Slovakia, “Promises” reinforces the fair’s dedication to nurturing new talent.

Art Paris introduces two thematic explorations in 2025. Immortal: A Focus on Figurative Painting in France, curated by Amélie Adamo and Numa Hambursin, delves into the enduring significance of French figurative art. Featuring 30 artists, the showcase bridges historical influences with contemporary practices, celebrating figurative painting as a dynamic European movement. Accompanied by a catalog and panel discussions, this theme is set to spark engaging dialogues.

In Out of Bounds, curator Simon Lamunière examines the interplay of multiethnicity and cultural hybridity through works by 18 international artists. This theme reflects the transformative power of art to address questions of identity, history, and geography.

Scattered across the fair are 18 monographic exhibitions offering profound insights into the works of modern and contemporary artists. Highlights include Vera Molnar’s geometric explorations presented by Galerie Oniris (Rennes) and the collaborative brilliance of Sarah Brahim and Ugo Schiavi in NEUMA: The Forgotten Ceremony, an installation inspired by AlUla’s mythological and archaeological heritage.

Marking the centenary of the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, Art Paris introduces a new sector dedicated to contemporary design and decorative arts. Featuring 18 exhibitors, this collaboration with Le FRENCH DESIGN celebrates the synergy between art, design, and traditional craftsmanship. The exhibition space, designed by Jakob + MacFarlane, showcases one-off creations and limited editions that blur the lines between functionality and artistic expression.

Art Paris continues to champion artistic achievement with two standout awards. The BNP Paribas Banque Privée Prize, launched in 2024, recognizes excellence in French art, awarding €40,000 to a living artist whose work embodies the theme of figurative painting. Meanwhile, the newly established Her Art Prize, in partnership with Marie Claire and Boucheron, celebrates women artists, granting €30,000 and an international promotional campaign to a deserving recipient.

The Art Paris VIP program offers an exclusive lens into Paris’s vibrant cultural scene, with 31 curated visits and tours for collectors and professionals. Beyond the Grand Palais, the city’s museums and galleries will teem with complementary exhibitions, cementing Paris’s place as a global art capital.

Art Paris 2025 is a true celebration of creativity, dialogue, and discovery. With its ambitious programming and diversity, this edition promises to leave a lasting impression on the global art stage.
