50 YEARS OF TAG HEUER IN SPACE

TAG HEUER

On 20 February 1962, the historic US Project Mercury, was with Astronaut John Glenn piloting the Friendship 7 Spacecraft, equipped with a Heuer 2915A stopwatch. TAG Heuer had just become the first Swiss timepiece in outer space. To celebrate the occasion, the brand  launched a stunning commemorative watch, the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Space X Chronograph. Drawing on the spirit of John’s Glenn’s Heuer, the iconic Carrera case design is reinterpreted for 2012 with a new, larger diameter (43mm) stainless steel case featuring finely polished surfaces, including the bezel, crown and Chronograph pushers. It comes in limited edition of 2,012 pieces, each individually numbered and engraved. www.tagheuer.com
