IJS ISTANBUL JEWELRY SHOW CLOSES ITS 60TH EDITION WITH VISITORS FROM 125 COUNTRIES

Istanbul once again proved why it sits at the crossroads of the global jewelry trade. The 60th edition of IJS Istanbul Jewelry Show, held from 30 September to 3 October 2026, welcomed 18,491 industry professionals from 125 countries and hosted nearly 1,000 companies and brands from 15 countries.

Organized by Informa and sponsored by Elmas Kule, the four-day fair covered the industry’s entire supply chain, from gold, diamonds, colored gemstones and pearls to watches, silverware, refining, machinery and software. Counted among the world’s five largest B2B jewelry exhibitions, it generated millions of dollars in trade, reinforcing Türkiye’s strategic place in international jewelry commerce.

For our readers in the Middle East and North Africa, the visitor figures are particularly encouraging. Excluding Türkiye, the top five visitor countries were Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Algeria, followed by India, Iraq, Uzbekistan, the UAE and Palestine. Morocco and Jordan also made the top 20. Visitor numbers from Algeria, Palestine, India, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Kazakhstan and Colombia grew compared with the October 2025 edition.

One of the clearest messages of this edition was the growing weight of technology. Co-founder Şermin Cengiz noted that machinery, manufacturing technologies and software solutions are becoming increasingly prominent alongside collections and design. The strong interest in IJS Tech, the dedicated machinery and technology hall, and the rising participation of software companies show how innovation is reshaping the way jewelry is made and sold.

Beyond the stands, the program offered panels and seminars at the Art for Jewellery – Inspiration Hub, including a WGSN jewelry trends presentation. Hands-on workshops at IJS Academy let visitors experience the craftsmanship behind jewelry making first-hand.

With trading activity giving fresh momentum to the sector, the organizers expressed hope for a positive start to 2027. As a longtime partner of the show, COLLECTION looks forward to bringing you more from the next edition.
