A MEDITERRANEAN-INSPIRED SUPERYACHT FROM THE GULF’S LARGEST CUSTOM SHIPYARD SIGNALS A NEW CHAPTER FOR THE REGION’S YACHTING AMBITIONS.
For more than four decades, the Nashed family has shaped interiors for palaces, five-star hotels and private residences through Romeo Interiors. Today that heritage has found a new home at sea. Romeo Marine, the Dubai-based shipyard founded in 2008 as its sister company, has completed the Romeo 55, its first new-build superyacht and a statement of what the region can now achieve on the water.
Headquartered in Dubai Maritime City, Romeo Marine operates a 12,000 sqm integrated facility, the largest of its kind in the Gulf, with an in-house team of around 500 spanning engineering, plate-cutting, painting and interior finishing. It is also the only custom superyacht builder in the Middle East with expertise in both steel and aluminium construction. After nearly two decades of refits, rebuilds and fit-outs, the Romeo 55 shows what all that accumulated knowledge can produce.
“The Romeo 55 is not just an exquisite yacht designed for discerning international owners, but also a statement of Romeo Marine’s capabilities as a new-build shipyard,” says founder and CEO Nader Nashed. “Born in Dubai but bound for the ocean.”
With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the 54.43-metre (178.6 ft), 780 GT Romeo 55 is built around the simple idea to feel less like a yacht and more like a Mediterranean coastal villa. Interior designer Pulina Exclusive Interiors drew on the traces water, wind and time leave on a shoreline. The result is a palette of mahogany veneer, natural marble and stone, fine leather and refined metal details, laid over bespoke parquet flooring and softened by nature-inspired curves.
Glass is the yacht’s signature. Double-height glazing in the aft superstructure floods the interiors with light and keeps guests connected to the sea. Alessandro Pulina describes the guiding philosophy as Dolce Vita, “not as a lifestyle of excess, but as an invitation to slow down” and reconnect with beauty.
The full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck is conceived as a private waterfront residence, it has a double-height deck-head with skylight, a study, his-and-hers ensuites and drop-down balconies on both sides. Five VIP and guest suites on the lower deck bring the capacity to twelve guests in six cabins, looked after by a crew of eleven. A feature staircase winds around a glass guest elevator, creating a welcome statement from the moment guests step aboard.
Upstairs, the upper saloon is the social heart of the yacht, with a bar, games table and seamless access to the aft deck. The sun deck crowns the experience with a spa pool, fitness area, cinema set-up, bar and a panoramic sky-lounge whose giant skylight opens to the air.
Beneath the elegance sits serious engineering, Twin MTU engines deliver a top speed of 15 knots, while a 10-knot cruise gives a range of 5,200 nautical miles, enough to open up the world’s most coveted cruising grounds. A waterjet-powered tender, two Wave Runners and a Jacuzzi dip pool with swim jet complete the lifestyle package.
The Romeo 55 is only the beginning, the yard has already laid the keel of the 60-metre Romeo 60, with exterior lines by Gresham Marshall Yacht Design and interiors again by Pulina. She will carry a hybrid diesel-electric installation with azimuthing pod drives, plus a sustainability-minded approach to materials, for greater efficiency and lower emissions.
Visitors can see the Romeo 55 for themselves at the Dubai International Boat Show, 25–29 November 2026, where she will be on display.
For a region that has long excelled at hospitality, the Romeo 55 shows craftsmanship and ambition finding a new expression at sea.
