HOMI HEADING TOWARDS A BRIGHT FUTURE

The last edition of HOMI was not a regular one in September 2019. The occasion was marked by major changes in the concept as well as on the management level.

The HOMI Fair, which always included under its wings multiple sectors such as interior and exterior home decor, kitchen and accessories, household items, gifts, festive decorations, ornaments, fashion and accessories, started as of this edition a separation process. Each of the industries mentioned above has nos an independent exhibition with a special date that attracts dedicated visitors, even though the dates may converge sometimes for practical necessities.

DE SIMONE

The management of Fiera Milano, one of the largest in the exhibition industry in Italy, by taking this bold step, has met the needs of the market and the demands of professionals alike. In addition, it has injected the necessary funding and reorganized the ranks of its administration in order to manage the organization of all these events along with all the technical and logistic issues it requires, in a way to  turn them into solid and important dates on the events calendar of their corresponding sectors.

Starting with this edition of the Homi Fashion&Jewels fair, Emmanuel Guido took on the role of Exhibition Director. Guido has an extensive experience in the field after having spent many years in the management board at Vicenzaoro.

KATERINA VASSOU

The Homi Fashion&Jewels edition which ran from 13 to 16 September 2019 at the Rho Exhibition Center in Milan was an evidence of the success of the move. Buyers and trade delegations from various countries visited the exhibition specialized in accessories and fashion jewellery. They savored a wide variety of exhibits in a relaxed atmosphere. The spacious halls and the vast aisles were filled with buyers, working, exploring, networking, and creating acquaintances. The VIP lounge and its restaurant, worked around the clock on receiving buyers for a short break, a good Italian bite, or even a business meeting.

NATALIE LACROIX

Most of the new visitors to the event expressed their satisfaction from the visit and their gratitude for the services provided to them by the administration. The land transportation between the exhibition and the hotel, the VIP lounge, the comfortable atmosphere, the ease of surfing between the halls, the diversity of exhibits and sources of origin, the Sperimenta  pavillion, the multiple options and price categories on offer, the lectures that provided the latest studies on markets and fashion in the field of jewelry, be it in design or in the materials or in the colors … were all elements of strength which enriched the experience and added value to the buyers’ visit.

NUOVO EVO

It is worthy to note that the topic of sustainability and conservation of the environment was evident in many talks and discussions in the show. On many booths, we could notice statements denouncing the use of non-recyclable materials as well as others that stimulated the use of all recycled or recyclable materials in the future. There is no doubt that this proposal has seen a practical translation in the exhibits on many stands. Besides being eco-friendly, the designs were a pleasure to look at with their aesthetics and creativity.

Despite the long for sustainability, traditional materials such as natural leather and natural stones have not lost sight of the scene in a striking contrast with their predecessors. The transition phase, even though it started, still has a long and arduous course…

The next meeting with Homi Fashion&Jewels will be from 15 to 18 February 2020, in conjunction with Micam and Mipel events and also with the International Fashion Week in Milan. Be ready!
