THE LARGEST EVER-HELD ISTANBUL JEWELRY SHOW

This year’s show of IJS MARCH proved to be the largest ever held, with business networks flourishing and Turkish jewelry exports reaching new heights.

The Istanbul Jewelry Show March edition, hosted by Informa Markets and sponsored by Elmas Kule, drew in a record-breaking 32,000 visitors from 149 countries across the globe. Istanbul Expo Center played host to representatives from the jewelry sector worldwide, as 1500 companies and brands from 10 countries presented their products and services to the sector professionals. In comparison to the previous year’s show, the number of international visitors increased by a staggering 17%, with a significant 29% of show visitors and buyers from abroad.

As one of the most important jewelry sector events on the global schedule, Istanbul Jewelry Show ensured new and lucrative cooperation opportunities and unique information sharing amongst major firms and brands. The “International Buyer Delegation Program,” held by Jewellery Exporters’ Association of Türkiye and Informa Markets, proved to be a resounding success in raising exports, discovering new markets for exportation, and maintaining the existing market share of vendors, with over 1000 buyers from major firms and brands participating in the show.

The esteemed Designer Club, a joint project of Jewellery Exporters’ Association of Türkiye and Istanbul Jewelry Show, brought together both master and young jewelry designers under the same banner, exhibiting their exceptional designs and creations at the show. The “Art for Jewellery – Inspiration Hub” events, held at the show under the leadership of Jewellery Exporters’ Association of Türkiye, with a panel on “Jewelry Sector in a Digitalized World” discussed on the first day of the event with the participation of world-renowned influencers. On the second day, Seden Ünlü, Türkiye Sales Director of the globally known trend company WSGN, announced the “Trends in Jewelry Sector.” The third day of the event brought together artists and sectoral representatives at a panel titled “Interdisciplinary Transformations, Our Jewelry Future, Sustainability, Culture, Art and International Markets.”

Sustainability was also at the forefront of the event, with several environmentally sensitive works conducted with the vision of sustainability in mind. Green procedures such as reducing printed materials, recycling name tags and exhibition carpets, energy saving via LED technology, and online preparation of visitor surveys via tablets were implemented, with the aim of reducing paper use and minimizing CO2 emissions by transporting participants and visitors to the exhibition area by mass transportation.
