From 15 to 21 April, 2024, the Tigullio Design District will come alive with a myriad of online and in-person activities. Drawing inspiration from the Milan Design Week, the TDD offers international designers and enthusiasts a fresh venue to explore Italian design and lifestyle against the breathtaking Gulf of Tigullio.
The recognition of excellence in design and craftsmanship has always been the centre of focus for TDD. The “Design ante litteram” exhibition pays homage to the iconic Chiavari light chair, tracing its evolution from the 19th century to the present day. This showcase, curated by renowned professionals and sponsored by esteemed organizations, highlights Liguria’s rich design heritage.
The TDD serves as a platform for cross-cultural exchange, exemplified by the Sino-Italian Design Forum. Welcoming a delegation from China, the forum facilitates dialogue between Ligurian and Chinese design professionals, fostering mutual understanding, dialogue, and collaboration.
In its commitment to nurturing young talent, the TDD hosts the “Sea Design Award” and design workshops, offering university students a platform to showcase their innovative ideas and creating a dynamic ecosystem for the next generation of designers.
Worthy to mention, the new addition to the TDD landscape which is the “Best Shop” award, recognizing local businesses that praise design excellence and customer experience.
