IJS Istanbul Jewelry Show April 2024

As it has recently concluded its 55th edition, the Istanbul Jewelry Show (IJS) once again confirmed its status as a key event in the global jewelry calendar.

This edition marked a significant milestone as IJS solidified its status as one of the top five jewelry exhibitions globally and Turkey’s premier international B2B jewelry trade event. Over four days, the show attracted more than 30,000 attendees from 139 countries, witnessing an 8% increase in international visitors compared to last year, including significant boosts from regions as diverse as Far Asia and Northern Europe.

Organized by Informa Markets and sponsored by Elmas Kule, the event featured over 1,500 brands from 16 countries, sprawling across 70,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The offerings were rich and varied, encompassing gold jewelry, precious stones, and the latest in jewelry technology and machinery, showcasing new trends and conducting substantial industry business. This edition’s highlight was the IJS Tech section, which displayed cutting-edge tools and technologies essential for modern jewelry making.

The event also celebrated the launch of a new logo and brand name under the theme of a modern tulip, a symbol that resonates deeply with Istanbul’s heritage, unveiled during a special event hosted by historian Pelin Batu.

IJS founding partner Şermin Cengiz eloquently shared the vision of the fair, emphasizing its transformative impact on the jewelry industry and its contribution to Turkish exports, with the sector deriving an impressive 80 percent of its annual exports from the IJS fairs.

This edition was marked by the ever-popular special areas: the “Art for Jewellery” and the “Designer Club.” These spaces not only provided a platform for artistic expression but also enabled local and international designers to showcase their innovative designs and exquisite craftsmanship to a global audience. Furthermore, presentations on future trends by WGSN highlighted ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’ as key drivers for the future of jewelry design, affirming IJS’s commitment to leading the industry towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced future.

Mark your calendars as the jewelry world eagerly anticipates the next IJS, scheduled from 2 to 5 October, promising even more opportunities for networking, innovation, and inspiration.
