The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) has announced the retirement of CEO Doug Hucker, effective 22 April 2026.
Hucker, a veteran figure in the global gem and jewellery trade, led the organization through post-COVID recovery and ongoing market volatility. His nearly four-year tenure focused on financial discipline, the successful delivery of major industry congresses, and strengthened membership engagement.
“Doug has made a significant contribution to ICA during a pivotal time for our industry”, said ICA President Damien Cody. “His experience, professionalism and commitment have helped strengthen the Association”.
Prior to joining ICA, Hucker spent approximately 24 years as CEO of the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) and also held roles at GIA.
The ICA has not yet announced a successor but said details regarding new leadership will be released in the near future. Hucker said he is now looking forward to a well‑earned retirement.
