OROAREZZO 2024 CONCLUDING WITH IMPRESSIVE SUCCESS

OROAREZZO 2024 comes to a close leaving a lasting impact on the global gold and jewelry industry, reaffirming its status as a premier platform for showcasing the rich heritage of Italian craftsmanship.

The 43rd edition of OROAREZZO has concluded with impressive success, marking a 5% increase in overall attendance compared to last year, including a 14% rise in foreign visitors and a steady 4% growth from Italy. Dedicated to showcasing the best of Made in Italy and international goldsmithing, the event featured over 370 exhibiting brands and attracted more than 400 hosted buyers from 60 countries. The global appeal was evident with attendance from 109 countries, demonstrating a balanced representation from Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, the Americas, Asia, and Africa.

The highlight of OROAREZZO was the 33rd edition of the Première competition, which celebrated the creativity and craftsmanship of Italian gold and jewelry designers. This year, 53 companies participated with unique pieces inspired by the theme “Love and Beauty.” An international jury awarded prizes across five categories: Design, Fashion, Tradition, Wearable Sculptures, and Talents for under-30 designers. The award ceremony, honored remarkable creations such as the “Filamenti” of Alunno & Co. in the Design category and the “Rosa del Deserto” by D’orica in the Fashion category. Special mentions included the Anima “vintage-inspired” necklace in the Tradition category and Coar by Roberto Intorre’s “Onda” necklace in Wearable Sculptures.

In addition to celebrating established talent, OROAREZZO focused on nurturing the next generation of goldsmiths through its Career Day event. This initiative brought together around 100 students from Arezzo to meet with companies seeking new skills and talent. Roberto Santi, Headmaster of Arezzo’s Professional Technical Institute, emphasized the need for generational turnover in the industry, highlighting the opportunities available for young graduates in the goldsmith district.

OROAREZZO also explored the intersection of tradition and innovation in goldsmithing. The Italian Association of Metal Finishings (AIFM) discussed advancements in techniques for precious metal surface treatments, emphasizing the importance of scientific research in enhancing the quality and sustainability of jewelry. Speakers from Florence University, Milan Polytechnic, and industry experts from Germany and Italy shared insights on innovative processes that ensure durability and economic efficiency in jewelry production.

OROAREZZO 2024 remarkable success sets a promising stage for the next edition taking place from 10 to 13 May 2025, continuing its tradition of excellence in the world of goldsmithing.
