…A MODERN REVIVAL OF 1950S ELEGANCE
The Fiftysix collection, first introduced in 2018, is making a triumphant return to the spotlight with a stunning new model that perfectly merges vintage charm with modern sophistication. The latest addition to the collection features a 40 mm pink gold case paired with a striking black dial and an anthracite nubuck calfskin leather strap, creating a refined blend of retro and contemporary aesthetics.
The design of the Fiftysix collection draws its inspiration from the iconic Reference 6073, created in 1956, which marked a pivotal moment in the history of Vacheron Constantin. Known for its elegant, round case and self-winding movement, the 6073 became a symbol of 1950s watchmaking excellence. The new Fiftysix model echoes these hallmarks with a modern twist, featuring a sector-type dial with opaline and sunburst finishes, Roman numerals, and baton-style hour markers coated in luminescent material for enhanced readability in low light.
The timepiece is powered by the in-house Calibre 1326, a self-winding movement visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. This movement is adorned with the Maltese cross emblem, a subtle nod to the brand’s nearly 270 years of watchmaking heritage. The 18K pink gold oscillating weight further enhances its luxurious appeal of the watch.
The Fiftysix collection revival is not just about nostalgia, it reflects the current trend of combining heritage with modernity, catering to discerning collectors who appreciate both the craftsmanship of the past and the innovations of today.
