Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’: When Time Blossoms in Art

Forget the fleeting tick-tock of mere timekeeping and indulge yourself in the rarefied world of Jaeger-LeCoultre, where time unfolds as a living canvas, intertwining artistry and horological mastery to create objects of enduring fascination.

The latest chapter in this unfolding story? The Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ – a duo of timepieces that dare to capture the ephemeral beauty of the arum flower and render it eternal. With the introduction of the Green Arums and Purple Arums models, we are invited to witness a blossoming of creativity that elevates the iconic Reverso to new heights of Métiers Rares™.

An icon since 1931, the Reverso was initially conceived for the rigors of the polo field. However, its Art Deco elegance quickly transcended its sporty origins, gracing the wrists of discerning women even before its first anniversary. The Reverso One case, with its refined, elongated proportions, provides an ideal canvas for artistic expression.

In 2025, Jaeger-LeCoultre elevates this canvas to new heights with the ‘Precious Flowers’ series. These limited-edition timepieces (only 10 of each) pay homage to the beauty of nature, specifically the arum flower. Each model holds a vibrant bouquet of arums, brought to life through the meticulous grand feu champlevé enamelling technique. This demanding five-step process involves hollowing out the metal surface to create outlines for the flowers and leaves, then filling these troughs with powdered glass enamel. Up to ten coats of enamel are applied and fired at temperatures reaching 800°C to achieve the desired depth and intensity of color. The green arums require 15 hours of enamelling, while the purple arums necessitate 30 hours.

Adding to the brilliance, diamonds are meticulously set using both grain- and snow-setting techniques. Grain-setting highlights the geometry of the case, while snow-setting creates an unbroken surface of light and sparkle, amplifying the enamel’s vibrant hues. The Green Arums model features 409 diamonds (2.59 carats), while the Purple Arums boasts an impressive 637 diamonds (2.12 carats). The diamond setting alone takes 45 hours for the green arums and 95 hours for the purple arums. Black lacquer is also used in the Green Arums model to add contrast and depth.

These timepieces are powered by the hand-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 846, a movement shaped specifically for the Reverso. The dial side offers a subtle hint of the artistry on the reverse, with delicate mother-of-pearl and brackets framing the numerals. The gadroons, lugs, and winding crown are also adorned with diamonds.

True luxury lies not just in precious materials, but in the immeasurable value of human skill, artistic vision, and the ability to transform fleeting moments into an eternity of beauty. The Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ collection by Jaeger-LeCoultre is a story whispered in enamel, sparkling in diamonds, and told in time.
