THE 73RD BANGKOK GEMS & JEWELRY FAIR OPENS NEXT MONTH

The global jewelry industry will converge in Bangkok next month for the 73rd edition of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair. Scheduled from 22 to 26 February, 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), the fair is projected to generate over USD 150 million in trade value, underlining its critical role in the global luxury supply chain.

Organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and co-organized by the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT), the fair is expanding its physical footprint to meet surging demand. For this edition, the exhibition area will extend into the Plenary Hall on Level 1, accommodating an additional 200 booths. The event will feature over 1,300 companies from more than 20 countries, occupying 2,800 booths, and is expected to welcome 45,000 trade visitors.

“Over the past 40 years, the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair has served as a key driving force for the industry. It has played a vital role in connecting buyers and sellers from around the world, creating business opportunities and trade partnerships, enhancing the international reputation of Thai products, and continuously promoting exports”, stated Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of the DITP. She highlighted the sector’s robust performance, noting that exports of gems and jewelry (excluding unwrought gold) for the first 11 months of 2025 reached USD 12.124 billion, a growth exceeding 53%. “The fair is now recognized as one of the world’s four most important gems and jewelry trade fairs and is the largest global marketplace for colored gemstones. To accommodate strong demand from both Thai and international exhibitors, the organizers have expanded the exhibition area to include the Plenary Hall on Level 1, allowing the 73rd edition to host more than 200 additional booths. This further reinforces Thailand’s position as a global gems and jewelry trading hub. The event will feature more than 1,300 companies, over 2,800 booths from more than 20 countries, and is expected to attract over 45,000 visitors, generating trade value exceeding 150 million USD”.

A key distinction of the Bangkok fair is its dominance in the colored gemstone sector, where it is recognized as the world’s largest marketplace. This edition will further spotlight Thailand’s advanced craftsmanship and technical mastery, particularly in gemstone enhancement and bespoke manufacturing.

Mr. Boonyarit Kalayanamit, Chairman of the GIT Board, emphasized the strategic importance of the fair for high-end production. “More than 80% of our exhibitors are Thai manufacturers offering comprehensive OEM and ODM services. This capability, paired with exceptional artistry, is why premier international jewelry houses continue to entrust Thailand with their production”, he remarked.

Adding a profound layer of prestige and cultural significance, the opening ceremony will be graced by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. A special exhibition will showcase exclusive jewelry pieces created under Her Royal Highness’s creative vision and executed by Thailand’s master artisans. This showcase continues the royal legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, dedicated to preserving and elevating Thai craftsmanship on the world stage.

For luxury trade professionals, the 73rd Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair represents an essential destination for sourcing, discovering innovative design, and engaging with the complete spectrum of Thailand’s manufacturing excellence, from raw, ethically sourced colored gemstones to finished haute joaillerie.

The 73rd Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair will be held from 22 to 26 February, 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok.
