FERRETTI YACHTS 722: “JUST LIKE HOME” MEETS THE OPEN SEA

There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over a well-conceived yacht, a sense that every space, every material, every shaft of light has been carefully considered for living. The new Ferretti Yachts 720 (22.5 meters, with a beam of 5.60 meters) delivers precisely that. And it does so with a warmth that feels, for lack of a better word, honest.

this latest iteration of one of Ferretti Yachts’ most beloved flybridge models is an evolution of the most refined kind: quieter, brighter, more intuitive. The kind that only comes from decades of listening to owners who know the difference between a showpiece and a home.

From the first glance, the 720’s profile tells a new story. The gunwale has been reimagined, glazing has expanded significantly in both the main salon and the master cabin, and the Light moves through the vessel. The connection between interior and exterior is no longer a luxury, it is the premise.

Step aboard from the transom, and you’re greeted by a sea-facing fold-out sofa (optional, but worth serious consideration). Two staircases lead to the cockpit, where al fresco dining becomes something closer to an open-air salon. The glass door to the main deck uses three panels, one hinged, two sliding, so that even underway, the separation between inside and out is yours to control.

Inside, two large facing sofas in Zimmer + Rohde fabrics anchor the living area. Storage compartments, typically the quiet heroes of any well-used yacht, have been expanded significantly, a nod to owners who actually spend time aboard. A concealed TV sits behind the starboard sofa: present when you want it, invisible when you don’t.

Ferretti offers two interior moods. The “Classic” which leans into earthy tones, and the “Contemporary” which uses glowing woods and sea-inspired hues, fresh, airy, unmistakably Mediterranean. Both are executed in full Made in Italy manner, balanced, elegant, never loud.

Then comes the most significant layout change: a clear separation between the dining/living area and the galley/wheelhouse, achieved via a sliding glass door. An optional electrically operated hi-lo glass panel adds further refinement. Resulting in a semi-enclosed environment that grants privacy without isolation. Crew can move via the port side walkway without crossing the main living spaces (a small detail that transforms daily life aboard).

The wheelhouse itself deserves mention. The windscreen has no central pillar—now a Ferretti hallmark—offering superb visibility. Up to four 16-inch displays line the panel. New Poltrona Frau pilot chairs and infrared-protective glazing (reducing solar radiation and improving AC efficiency) complete a space that feels as considered as the salon.

Below, four comfortable cabins: master and VIP, each with en-suite bathrooms, plus two twins (port side twin can take sliding beds on request). The master cabin is particularly thoughtful: a pared-back vanity to port, a comfortable sofa opposite beside the walk-in wardrobe. That wardrobe sits behind the bed wall, separated by a sliding door, adjacent to the private bathroom. Together, these spaces create a buffer from the engine room resulting in impressive silence.

The crew cabin (double, with private bathroom and laundry station) is entered directly from the cockpit, with its own access to the engine room. This is pure operational intelligence.

The flybridge measures an impressive 41 square meters, accessed via a staircase from the starboard cockpit. Dining occupies the port side: a large sofa around an extending teak table with stainless steel legs. Behind it, a wet bar can host a grill, ice maker, and fridge.

Starboard, the helm station features a Poltrona Frau pilot chair (a second is optional). A new storage unit has been built into the chair support structure—because on a well-used flybridge, every cubic centimeter matters.

Forward, a broad sunpad spans the full beam. Aft, freestanding pieces allow owners to shape the terrace to their mood. Above, a two-tone hard top (tilting louvres on the first unit, or fixed glass) provides shade without compromise.

Power comes from two MAN V8 engines at 1200 HP (standard), delivering 28 knots top and 24 knots cruising. Or, for the more spirited owner, two MAN V12s at 1400 HP (optional), reaching 32 knots top and 28 knots cruising. Preliminary but credible data.

The mooring system has been upgraded with larger chains. Trim tabs are more responsive. A Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizer is integrated. Optional NG10 and WATCHIT Antigrounding System (collision avoidance since 2022) are available.

The Ferretti Yachts 720 is not trying to astonish you. It is trying to welcome you. And in that quiet ambition, it succeeds more completely than many yachts far larger and far louder.

For the owner who has learned that true luxury is not about more, but about better—better light, better flow, better silence, better mornings and evenings on the water—this is a vessel worth a very close look. Ferretti Yachts 720 – Just Like Home. Finally, on the water.
