There is a particular energy in Hong Kong every June, the humidity rises, the city buzzes, and for those of us in the fine jewellery trade, the calendars mark a date we simply cannot miss. Next month, from 18–21 June, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) will transform once again into the beating heart of our industry for Jewellery & Gem ASIA (JGA). And if the early briefings are anything to go by, this year’s edition feels particularly special.
We’ve all felt the weight of global uncertainty over the past few years, yet, as Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery, wisely noted, that is precisely why gatherings like JGA have never been more vital. It is no longer just about sourcing; it is about collaboration, finding practical solutions, and reconnecting with peers.
With over 1,100 exhibitors from 30+ countries, JGA is a B2B powerhouse. But what caught my eye this year is the sheer desirability of the pieces being unveiled. This is more than just a marketplace; it is a launchpad for the extraordinary.
Walking through the floor plans, two co-located fairs offer distinct treasure hunts. Hall 1 is your destination for finished pieces, anchored by the ever-innovative CORE Pavilion. Meanwhile, Hall 3 hosts the Fine Design/Fine Gem Pavilion, a sanctuary for legacy brands and discerning collectors.
Some previews already have our editors talking:
- N. Gemsis set to dazzle with a 5-carat ‘Crimson Red’ ruby ring (a true red-carpet moment) and a 20-carat+ unheated Burmese royal blue sapphire.
- Chic Chu Limitedoffers incredible versatility with a 54.96-carat Afghan neon lagoon tourmaline necklace that cleverly converts into a brooch. That is smart design.
- Joywith Jewelry Limited continues to push the boundaries of titanium, presenting the ‘Luminous Verdant Calla’ brooch with tsavorites and the striking ‘Monarch Butterfly’ with a Colombian emerald centre.
- Glamour Fine Jewelrybrings us a piece of natural art: an Australian black opal pendant/brooch displaying the rare and coveted harlequin pattern, paired with unheated violet sapphires.

Of course, a fair of this calibre also caters to the commercial buyer. The Pearl Enchantment section is robust this year, with Wing Hang Jewellery showcasing South Sea pearl rings, and suppliers like Abhinav Gems and Uwakai Pearl offering everything from deep golden ‘Chakin’ tone South Sea strands to classic Japanese Akoya.
For those who trade in colour, the line-up is a symphony. Look for Brazil Paraiba Mine’s neon tourmalines, Spectrum Jewelmart’s Zambian emeralds, and Chase Jewellery’s vibrant coloured gemstone rings.
Finally, what separates a good trade show from a great one is the knowledge shared. JGA 2026 delivers a strong seminar line-up at The Stage (Hall 1C).
I highly recommend Thursday’s (18 June) panel, “Winning Strategies for Natural Diamond Jewellery in ASEAN+ Markets”, moderated by Victor Yiu of Zuri Jewelry. On Friday (19 June) , don’t miss “Winning Hearts with Colour”, where designers Hiroko Saito (H-iron), Payal Shah (L’Dezen), and Victoria Yu (Joywith Jewelry) will discuss exactly what buyers are craving in coloured stones.
Online pre-registration closes on 7 June, secure your fast-track badge now. Whether you are hunting for your next bestseller, tracking a trend, or simply seeking inspiration, JGA next month is where our industry’s future takes shape. See you in Hong Kong!
