RESULTS OF COLLECTION DRAWING CONTEST FOR CHILDREN 2020

There is no doubt that the whole world has changed and that our habits everywhere have altered… A tiny small virus that we cannot even see has prompted us all to adopt alternative methods, whether to live, work or study… However, the desire for creativity and innovation defies the toughest and hardest conditions.
In April 2020, “COLLECTION” launched its initiative “The Cosmopolitan Drawing Contest for Children from 7 to 13 Years Old”, and since then, drawings from around the world poured into the magazine, via e-mail. Girls excelled in designing stunning pieces of jewelry to gift to their mothers, while boys competed to design beautiful wristwatches they would like to see on their fathers’ wrists.
By the deadline given to participate in the competition, the outcome was 538 drawings coming from 22 countries: Austria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Britain, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Greece, India, Iran, Lebanon, Malaysia, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and United States of America.

The jury consisting of six members who are famous in the jewellery sector and in the same time much experienced in the field of drawing and designing, and they are:
 – Mrs. Olivia de Lamberterie, Editor-In-Chief of the French Magazine “Elle”.
– Mrs. Reena Ahluwalia, Award-Winning Jewelry Designer, Painter and Professor.
– Mrs. Estelle Lagarde, Jewellery and Watch Designer for International Houses.
– Dr. Karam Mosaad Ahmed, Jewelry Designer, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University, Department of Metal Works.
– Mr. Marco Carniello, Director of the Jewellery Boutique Show “Vicenzaoro”.
– Mr. David Brough, Founder and Manager of Jewellery Outlook.

On the 10th of September, as initially scheduled, the committee studied the proposed drawings, ranked them and selected the winning pieces. According to the Jury the task was not an easy one; the competing works showed a lot of talent, of research, and of care to detail, in addition to the use of advanced techniques considering the target age group.
According to the jury, just participating in this global competition is in itself a victory for the child. It indicates the extent of his ambition, his enthusiasm for giving, his confidence in his talent and his love for designing.
Therefore, “COLLECTION” encourages all participants to persevere in developing their skills in drawing and design through study and training, and urges them not to miss any opportunity that would support them and push them forward.
The results of the competition are as follows:
For girls aged between 7 to 13 years young:
The Winner of the First place is Rashi Butolia from India.
The Second place went to Zainab Malik from Saudi Arabia.
The Third place went to Ananya Kathikian of the United States of America.
As for the additional “COLLECTION” prizes for this category, they went to: Molly Torsvik from Norway, Nazanin Hoseinzadeh from Iran, Parthi Jain from Bahrain, Ritale Awad from Egypt, and Tahleen Tarannum Mehek from Bangladesh.

For boys aged between 7 to 13 years young:
The Winner of the First place is Yahia Ahmed Khairy from Egypt.
The Second place went to Ralph Lahoud from France.
The Third place went to Mohammed Sayan Shibili from the United Arab Emirates.
As for the additional “COLLECTION” awards for this same category, they went to: Ayush Patel from the United States of America, Hosein Fadakar from Iran, Ariya Mahdilou from Malaysia, Porpeing Kanghae from Thailand, and Tanay Ghadge from India.
