EMERGING DESIGNERS UNVEIL THEIR GENIUS AT MICAM 96

Prepare to be captivated by the brilliance of 12 promising emerging designers as they take center stage in the Emerging Designers area at MICAM Milano, the International Footwear Fair in its 96th edition. This prestigious event is set to take place at the Fiera Milano Rho from 17 to 20 September 2023.

These visionary young designers have seamlessly blended their genius with a commitment to sustainability, resulting in awe-inspiring collections that will leave a lasting impact. Meticulously selected by a panel of experts, including President of the Jury Ernesto Esposito, General Director Cuir ADC Virginie Trento, Fashion Feature Deputy Editor Style Magazine Corriere della sera and columnist for Il Manifesto Michele Ciavarella, Stylist Gaia Fraschini, Photographer Paolo Colaiocco, and Fashion Shoe Expert Giacomo Cattaneo, these designers are eager to showcase their talent to international buyers at MICAM.

These remarkable collections focus on sustainability and originality. From the use of recycled or recyclable materials to meticulous attention to the production chain and the “Made-in” concept, each piece reflects the designers’ commitment to ethical fashion.

The 12 Emerging Designers who will grace this year’s event with their brands are :

Belledonne Paris (France): Antonin Chabanne and Mikael Leo created Belledonne Paris in 2018. Inspired by the eponymous mountain in the French Alps, their meticulous study of sneakers has culminated in a collection that blends sporty chic with unparalleled craftsmanship.

Bonamaso’ (Spain): Roser Flores Samon, widely known as Rous, founded Bonamaso’. With a background in fashion communication and experience in the Milan fashion industry, Rous’s passion and energy are infused into her brand, offering captivating designs with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

Caplait (Pakistan): Usman Manzoor, the driving force behind Caplait, brings a wealth of experience from the business world. Prior to establishing his own brand, Usman supplied footwear to a prominent retailer and held influential positions in renowned organizations.

Daniela Uribe (USA): Daniela Uribe, originally from Colombia, brings the vibrant Latino culture to her eponymous brand. Having studied and worked in Paris and London, she graduated with distinction from Cordwainers London College of Fashion (LCF) and has since worked for prestigious brands before embarking on her own journey.

Judy Mazzotti (Italy): Innovation and sustainability define the Judy Mazzotti brand, created by the talented designer from Rimini. Judy’s deep-rooted interest in fashion led her to attend the esteemed Cercal Institute in the San Mauro Pascoli footwear district, imbuing her designs with a unique flair.

Minacapilli (Switzerland): Andrea and Massimo, the creative minds behind Minacapilli, unite their passions for fashion and aesthetics. Andrea, a successful PR specialist, combines her expertise in communication and marketing, while Massimo, with a background in running glamorous nightclubs, brings his flair for fashion.

Mosca Shoes (Argentina): Damiano Mosca, hailing from Argentina, founded Mosca Shoes to pay tribute to his family name. His MICAM collection focuses on Texan boots, skillfully infused with neo-tribal accents, showcasing his passion for blending tradition with contemporary elements.

Pierini Calzature (Italy): Francesco Pierini’s lifelong dream led him to become an expert in fashion footwear. With experience gained through apprenticeships and specialized training, Pierini Calzature brings two distinct collections: a sneaker inspired by everyday experiences and an elegant, sophisticated shoe.

Room (Brazil): Simone Nunes, the Brazilian designer, established her eponymous brand in 2002 and has collaborated with numerous companies in São Paulo and Rio De Janeiro. Room, founded in 2016, prioritizes craftsmanship, quality, and exclusivity, drawing inspiration from the concept of home and its objects.

Soque (France): Soque, created in Paris in 2022, is the brainchild of Laure Chareton and Camille Cour. Laure’s passion for fashion grew during her work in digital marketing agencies, while Camille’s expertise lies in consulting for international brands, retailers, and commercial enterprises.

Tachino Chie (Japan): Chie Tachino, a Japanese designer, honed her craft in Tokyo, London, and Paris. Her extensive experience encompasses silk lingerie design for kimonos, footwear and bag design, and even modeling. With her brand founded in 2015, Chie’s expertise shines through her meticulous creations.

Ubac (France): Mathilde Blettery, born in a village surrounded by nature and raised by parents who own shoe stores, channeled her interest in the footwear sector to create the UBAC brand in 2018. Mathilde aims to conquer Europe with her brand, bringing together her passion for fashion and dedication to environmental responsibility.
