JGW SEPTEMBER 2026: HONG KONG PREPARES TO WELCOME THE WORLD’S JEWELLERY TRADE

Every September, the global jewellery industry turns its attention to Hong Kong, and this year is no exception. Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW), organised by Informa Markets Jewellery, returns for its September edition with a scale and scope that reaffirms its standing as the world’s leading jewellery sourcing destination, bringing together thousands of exhibitors and tens of thousands of buyers from across the globe under one unmistakable promise: six shows, one trip.

This year’s edition brings a small but welcome change. Responding directly to buyer feedback, Informa Markets Jewellery has returned JGW September to its original, easy-to-remember dates: the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) runs from 14 to 18 September, followed by the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 16 to 20 September. The adjustment is a small detail, but it speaks to something larger, an organiser genuinely listening to the community it serves, ensuring a smoother, more predictable rhythm for the professionals who plan their calendars around this fair months in advance.

JGW’s signature “One Show, Two Venues” format remains at the heart of the September edition, structured to guide buyers efficiently through the full spectrum of the industry.

At AsiaWorld-Expo, Gemstones takes over Halls 3, 6, 8 and 10, spotlighting emeralds, rubies, sapphires, fei cui, other coloured gemstones and lab-grown diamonds and gemstones. Alongside it, Diamonds & Fine Gems occupies Halls 5, 7 and 9, with a focus on white diamonds, fancy coloured diamonds and fine gems, while Pearls+ rounds out the AWE offering in Halls 9 and 11, covering pearls, fine minerals, jewellery accessories and corals.

The action then shifts to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, where Hong Kong fills Hall 1 with fine and finished jewellery, a dedicated Fei Cui Gallery, wedding jewellery and men’s jewellery. International spans Halls 3 and 5, offering one of the fair’s broadest ranges, from fine and silver jewellery to antique and vintage pieces, lab-grown diamond and gemstone jewellery, and the tools, equipment, display and packaging solutions that keep the industry running. Completing the lineup, Fine Design takes the Grand Hall, dedicated entirely to the extraordinary, handcrafted treasures of prestigious jewellery and gemstone houses where masterful craftsmanship meets true luxury.

The numbers behind JGW September speak for themselves. Its most recent edition welcomed over 55,000 unique buyers, with 69% travelling from outside Hong Kong and representing 141 countries and regions, met by more than 3,100 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions, spread across more than 40 group and themed pavilions, among them the renowned Fine Gem Pavilion and International Premier Pavilion.

What consistently draws this global community back, year after year, is not only the sheer breadth of sourcing on offer, but the quality of the discovery it enables. As one long-standing buyer put it, JGW is where new trends, new machinery, new packaging and new suppliers all come together in a single visit, a sentiment echoed across the fair’s international buyer base, from the Gulf to Southeast Asia to the Americas. Hong Kong itself plays no small part in this appeal, a dynamic free port with no VAT or general sales tax on imports and exports, offering exceptional ease of doing business alongside its renowned connectivity and cosmopolitan energy.

Beyond the trading floor, JGW September continues to be a genuine knowledge community. This edition’s programme includes panel sessions and seminars addressing the industry’s most pressing conversations, the GEM+ initiative, and Metal Innovations in the Art of Jewellery under the Sublime Shine 2.0 platform, alongside the JGW NextGen Coloured Gem Industry Awards, which shine a light on the rising talent shaping the sector’s future.

Together, these elements reflect a fair that understands its role extends well beyond the transactional. It is where sourcing meets storytelling, where craftsmanship meets commerce, and where relationships built over decades continue to be renewed each September in the heart of Hong Kong.

JGW September 2026 runs from 14 to 18 September at AsiaWorld-Expo and 16 to 20 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. For registration and full programme details, visit jgw.exhibitions.jewellerynet.com
